*** IMPORTANT *** Update on FEDEX Signature Policies

Federal Express has made several changes to its policies regarding requiring a signature for shipments. All deliveries to a Business Address will continue to require a signature upon delivery.

However, deliveries to Residential Addresses do not require a signature regardless of the type of delivery (Ground or Express). The FedEx driver has discretion over whether or not to leave the package at the front door. We are told by FedEx that they will not leave a package if the area is deemed “unsafe.” Yet, recently, we have had a spate of packages going missing from residential porches.

OCR customers should evaluate their delivery location. If a residential delivery is desired, customers may ask for a signature to be required. There is an extra fee for this service of $1.50 to $3.50 depending on the type of signature requested. We strongly encourage our customers to have packages delivered to a business address, or request “signature required” status when placing your order with us. Simply enter this request in the comments section of your order.

OCR will not be responsible for lost or stolen packages. We will be happy to work with FedEx on behalf of our customers, filing claims and investigating delivery circumstances. However, recent experience has shown us that claims will be denied if the FedEx driver confirms that he/she left the package at the front door. A signature request will not totally eliminate the possibility of a lost package, but is still a reasonable precaution.

New Kiln-Casting Glass by Spectrum Glass Company

We are now carrying a new kiln-casting glass produced by Spectrum Glass Company. It has wonderful clarity, and a very stable COE of 96. This is a brand new product so please call if you have any questions.

POSITION SUMMARY -

The gaffer will have overall mastery in glass blowing working in a production environment. Exposed to a variety of glass and glass blowing techniques. Coordinate the tasks and work patterns of the glass blowing team, casting and slumping process. To produce blown glass components following established safety procedures in accordance with quality standards and daily production quotas. Provide technical training and mentoring to new and experienced glass blowers in the department.
